6 To Be Interviewed For #348 Superintendent

The Wabash District #348 school board has scheduled the first round of interviews of potential candidates to become the district’s new superintendent. At last night’s monthly meeting, the school board went into executive session to hear from consultant Jim Helton of the Illinois Association of School Boards who is facilitating the search process. After closed session board president Tim Schuler said there were a total of 25 applicants and with Helton' s assistance the board  narrowed the field to 6. Those 6 will be interviewed either next Monday or Wednesday.  The names of those to be interviewed weren’t released. Two or three finalists would then be interviewed on January 22nd and 23rd with the board officially hiring the new superintendent at the regular February 26th meeting. Current Superintendent Tim Buss is retiring as superintendent effective next June 30th.
