91 Shot Win Grows Lady Aces' Winning Streak To 198 Straight
From Coach Karin Kelsey:
A big shoutout to all the fans at the course!!! The fairways were lined with fans and we truly appreciate the support!!!
Tonight the Lady Aces were led by Miley Kennard at our match with Olney! Miley earned the Medalist honor when she carded a 35 (-1)! Maria and Zeme played even par with their 36’s! And Emily added her 37 to the team score! Congrats to Elyse on her new personal best, 42! Ava carded a 41. The team score of 144 is even par as a team! That’s just crazy. These girls are incredible and such a joy to watch as they continually try to improve their skills of golf and bring their scores down. They work so well as a team, pushing each other to be the best they can be, and cheering for each other when they earn medalist or achieve a new personal best. This team rocks and I’m extremely proud of them and what a strong team they are Go Miley! Go Lady Aces!
Numbers Back Up Lady Aces' Dominance
Coach Karin Kelsey provided us some interesting facts about Lady Aces Golf that illustrates their level of dominance this decade!
The win this week against Fairfield marked our 197 consecutive win.
Our senior Maria Kennard was on the team that lost to Effingham St. Anthony on September 23, 2020. It was a triangular match at Olney and they had a great player, Macy Ludwig who shot a 3 under par that day! After that loss we went on to win our Regional and Salem’s Sectional!
Emily Gottman, Miley Kennard, Zeme Moore, Ava Brumagin and Elyse Swanson have not lost a match in their high school golf career!
The consecutive wins are:
After September 23, 2020-
2020- 19-0
2021- 78-0
2022 - 69-0
2023 - 31-0
In 2020 we lost two matches the St. Anthony match and also earlier in 2020 we lost to Massac County by 2 strokes at their Patriot Invite. Our record for 2020 was 40-2. (Covid year, no state tournament)
