Numbers Back Up Lady Aces' Dominance

Coach Karin Kelsey provided us some interesting facts about Lady Aces Golf that illustrates their level of dominance this decade!

The win this week against Fairfield marked our 197  consecutive win.

Our senior Maria Kennard was on the team that lost to Effingham St. Anthony on September 23, 2020. It was a triangular match at Olney and they had a great player, Macy Ludwig who  shot a 3 under par that day! After that loss we went on to win our Regional and Salem’s Sectional!

Emily Gottman, Miley Kennard, Zeme Moore, Ava Brumagin and Elyse Swanson have not lost a match in their high school golf career!

The consecutive wins are:

After September 23, 2020-

2020- 19-0

2021- 78-0

2022 - 69-0

2023 - 31-0

In 2020 we lost two matches the St. Anthony match and also earlier in 2020 we lost to Massac County by 2 strokes at their Patriot Invite. Our record for 2020 was 40-2. (Covid year, no state tournament)

Kennard's School Record 65 Leads Lady Aces To Rout At Massac County Invite

From Coach Karin Kelsey: Maria is all smiles today, she carded a 65 (-6) to win her Medalist Honors and BROKE THE SCHOOL RECORD of lowest 18 holes! The rest of the girls also played great golf. Emily and Zeme tied for 3rd place with their 73 (+2)! Ava rounded out the team score of 289 when she carded a 78. Miley had a lot of great shots and played better than her scorecard. And congrats to Elyse on her first road tournament, she is playing good and will continue to bring her score down as the season progresses! We have a young team this year with 4 sophomores but these girls make great things happen! Should I mention it was hot all day, until the last two holes when it started pouring rain! Go Maria!
