Borden man dies in tree stand accident

Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a fatal hunting accident that occurred on Sunday in Clark County.

Emergency personnel were dispatched to the area near the 27000 block of Jackson Road near the town of Borden after a hunter fell from a tree stand and was discovered by a family member.

Leslie Burnett, 76, of Borden, was deer hunting in an elevated ladder stand and was not wearing a full-body safety harness at the time of the accident.

The incident is still under investigation.

Conservation Officers remind hunters to always wear a full-body safety harness when hunting from an elevated platform.

Conservation Officers were assisted on scene by Borden Fire Department.

At last week's press conference to announce that Santos would not face any charges in connection to the incident, we asked State's Attorney Kelli Storckman about the TASER question.....

Storckman said she met with Howder's family before last week's press conference to announce the findings of the investigation....
