On June 2, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report of a vehicle driving South bound in the northbound lane of US 41 near Richland Creek in Princeton. Deputies Michael Owens and Zach Lienemann went out onto US 41 in an attempt to locate the vehicle. At 12:42 a.m. Deputy Owens observed a Tan 2002 Toyota Camry in the median on US 41 north of the Kings Mine Exit. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Owens identified the driver as 27 year old Luis Robles of Evansville. While speaking with Mr. Robles Deputy Owens immediately detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver. At that point he began a roadside DUI investigation that resulted in Mr. Robles being taken into custody. Mr. Robles was transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.
Assisting Deputy Owens in his investigation was Deputy Zach Lienemann. Also assisting in the investigation was Princeton Officers Jeremy Robb and Nefti Padilla

Pair Arrested On Domestic Battery Charge After Friday Incident
On 6/07/24, Mt. Carmel Police arrested David A. Pierce, age 74 and Rebecca A. Dudley, age 54, both of Mt. Carmel for Assault following a domestic dispute at their residence in the 1000 block of West 6th Street. Upon arrival, officers received allegations that Dudley had thrown a vase towards him, shattering it. Dudley alleged that Pierce had thrown a horseshoe towards her, during the dispute. Both sought charges against the other resulting in both being arrested, transported to the jail for processing, and then released on a Notice to Appear.
11th Avenue Domestic Dispute Sends Mt. Carmel Man To Jail
On 5/16/24, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Dirk More, age 45, of Mt. Carmel for Domestic Battery following a domestic dispute with a family member outside of his home in the 900 block of 11th Ave. The family member reported that More had pushed them to the ground, after becoming upset about a letter he had received. Officers found evidence that corroborated the alleged claim, resulting in More’s arrest. More was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged and held pending a pre-trial release determination by the court.
Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charges For Albion Man
On 6/08/24, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Kevin M. Pickering, age 34, of Albion for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Hypodermic Needle following a traffic stop on a black 2020 Honda near 3rd & Bellmont Street. The stop was a result of the driver, Kevin Pickering, committing a violation of the Illinois Vehicle Code. During the stop, Ofc. Hopper and K-9 Eleven responded to the scene and conducted a free air narcotic sniff around the exterior of the Honda. In doing so, Eleven alerted to the odor of narcotics from the driver’s door. A subsequent search resulted in officers locating a clear bag of suspected methamphetamine, a glass pipe that had been used to ingest suspected narcotics, and a package of hypodermic needles. Additionally, officers located a pinkish red powder inside a baggie as well as 8 white pills identified as Hydromorphone Hydrochloride, a DEA Schedule II narcotic. The arresting officer completed a drug field test kit on the suspected methamphetamine, which indicated positive. The pinkish red powder field tested positive for Fentanyl. Pickering was taken to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged and released on a Notice to Appear.
Weekend Dispute Lands Mt. Carmel Man In Jail
On 6/07/24, Mt. Carmel Police arrested David Jason Seaton, age 55, of Mt. Carmel for Domestic Battery following a domestic dispute at his residence in the 1400 block of North Cherry Street. Police responded to the residence to investigate a report that Seaton had caused bodily harm to his spouse by trying to pull a back pack off her back during a dispute. Furthermore, it was alleged Seaton grabbed her cell phone, located in her back pants pocket, in an attempt to take it from her. Evidence corroborated the claims, resulting in Seaton’s arrest. Seaton was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he charged and held pending a pre-trial release determination by the court.
Pair Arrested In Mt. Carmel On Fentanyl Trafficking Warrants
On 6/06/24, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Jawan D. Combs, age 29 of Hanson, Kentucky and Ayren A. Cassem, age 24, currently of Mt. Carmel on Hopkins County Kentucky District Court warrants for Trafficking Fentanyl. Investigators from Kentucky requested the assistance of the Mt. Carmel Police Department as they believed both individuals were at a residence in the 300 block of W 1st Street. Both subjects were located and placed under arrest. Both were transported to the Wabash County Jail where they were charged and are being held pending extradition back to Kentucky.
Traffic Stop Leads To DUI Arrest Of Mt. Carmel Man
On 6/06/24, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Wade Lingerfelt, age 31, of Mt. Carmel for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving While License Suspended following a traffic stop in the 100 block of E 11th Street. The arresting officer observed Lingerfelt operating a white Nissan and knew his license to be suspended. A traffic stop was conducted and, upon making contact with the driver Wade Lingerfelt, the officer had suspicion he was under the influence of alcohol. Lingerfelt refused to submit to a roadside sobriety check; however, due to several behaviors exhibited by Lingerfelt, along with empty alcohol bottles being observed in the Nissan, Lingerfelt was placed under arrest. Lingerfelt was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was processed for DUI and later released on a Notice to Appear.
Mt. Carmel Man Picked Up On FTA Warrant
On 6/06/24, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Richard E. Stringfellow, age 49, of Mt. Carmel on a Wabash County Warrant for Failure to Appear. Stringfellow was observed by the arresting officer in the 900 block of N Mulberry Street, where he was taken into custody. Stringfellow was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was issued the warrant and is being held pending a pre-trial release determination by the court.
