Solar Farm Ordinance Enforcement Murky

If R-3 Renewables follows through with plans to build a solar farm in Wabash County, who will be responsible for making sure the company adheres to the guidelines laid out in an ordinance passed by the county board? That’s one of the questions that Ryan and Jessica Peter recently posed to county commissioners. As currently planned, the solar array would be constructed right across the road from the Peters’ home. Unfortunately, the answer to the enforcement question is a murky one according to State’s Attorney Kelli Storckman…

Since Wabash County doesn’t have zoning, county commissioners told the Peters that basically there was no recourse for their concerns to be addressed presently.
