WCHD Formulating Mass COVID-19 Vaccination Plan

At yesterday’s Wabash County board meeting, health department administrator Judy Wissel said her office continues to work on the mass COVID-19 vaccination plan….…

In response to a question from commissioner Rob Dean, Wissel said she anticipates the first available vaccine to be administered in Wabash County will be the Pfizer vaccine, even though that could change depending on when the vaccine is released locally.

Big Jon's Lunchbox Wins RMC's "Spirit Of Christmas" Award

Evansville man arrested on OWI charge

On December 5, 2020, at 3:40 p.m. Gibson County Deputy U.B. Smith clocked a 1998 Honda Civic traveling at 110 mph in a 60 mph zone on US 41 near the Kings Mine exit. Upon stopping the vehicle Deputy Smith identified the driver as 18-year-old Austin Market of Chandler. During a roadside investigation Mr. Market resisted Deputy Smith as he attempted to place Mr. Market into custody. Ultimately Mr. Market was transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer and Reckless Driving. He remains in custody on a $750 bond.

Assisting Deputy Smith in his investigation was Deputy Jennifer Robb and Princeton Officers Jeremy Robb and Lincoln Edwards.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Disturbance leads to arrest of Princeton woman

On December 6, 2020, 12:57 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a 911 report of a disturbance on Creek Drive in Fort Branch. Deputy U.B. Smith and Haubstadt Officer Riley Farmer were dispatched to the scene. Upon arriving on scene Deputy Smith separated all parties and began an investigation. At the conclusion of his investigation 42-year-old Julie Green of Princeton was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Jail Ms. Green was charged with Battery. She remains in custody on a $750 bond.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Montrose Man Dead After Vehicle Hit By Train

The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police

District 12

 

WHAT:                      Single Vehicle versus Train Fatal Traffic Crash

 

WHERE:                   Railroad crossing on South Maple Street just north of West Prairie Street, Montrose, Effingham County

 

WHEN:                      Dec. 6, 2020 at approximately 9:45 a.m.

 

VEHICLE:                Unit 1 - Blue 2003 Ford Escape

 

DRIVER:                   Unit 1 – Pierre A. Menard, a 63-year-old male of Montrose, IL - Deceased

                                                                                                                                                                                                             

PRELIMINARY:      A preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling northbound on South Maple Street at the railroad crossing located just north of West Prairies Street.  The driver of Unit 1 failed to yield the right of way to the westbound train and was struck by the train on its passenger side.  The driver was pronounce deceased on scene by the Effingham County Coroner.

Free Book Giveaway Set For Saturday At City Pool

Free Disney book sets will be distributed tomorrow morning at the Mt. Carmel City Pool. The contactless event is being spear-headed by Mayor Joe Judge… 

The brand new book sets will be distributed from 9 to noon Saturday in a drive-thru event. Two book sets will be given to each child, who does not need to be present.

Evansville Man Arrested for Possession of Meth

On December 2, 2020, at 8:07 a.m. Gibson County Deputy U.B. Smith conducted a traffic stop on a White 2002 Chevy Tracker for having False and Fictitious plates while driving on Main Street near State Street in Princeton. Upon approaching the vehicle he identified the driver as 57-year-old David Bredemeier of Evansville. During a roadside investigation 5.5 grams of Methamphetamines were found on Mr. Bredemeier’s person. At the conclusion of Deputy Smith’s investigation Mr. Bredemeier was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Gibson County Jail Mr. Bredemeier was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance/ Methamphetamines. He remains in custody on a $1250 bond.

Assisting Deputy Smith in his investigation was Deputy Jennifer Loesch.
