Mt. Carmel Woman Arrested After Allegedly Trying To Use Fake $100 Bill

06/24/2018-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 35 year old Jennifer L. Swift of Mt. Carmel after obtaining a warrant for her arrest.  Swift is charged with one count of forgery after it was alleged she tried to use a counterfeit $100.00 bill at the Mt. Carmel Secretary of State Office.  Police found Swift outside of her residence and placed her under arrest.  Swift was transported to the Wabash County Jail where she is being held pending the posting of $2,000.00 cash bond.

Rains Can't Dampen Enthusiasm For New Villas Of Holly Brook Welcome To Mt. Carmel

This morning’s torrential rains caused the ceremonial ground breaking of the new Villas of Holly Brook facility to be relocated next door to the Super 8. Along with various local dignitaries was Phillips Investments Reggie Phillips and he talked with us about Holly Brook and the type of facility they'll bring to Mt. Carmel.

The 74 unit facility will open in summer of 2019 and will include one bedroom, two bedroom or two bedroom deluxe apartments. When Mayor Bill Hudson announced the building of the new facility in December, he said 45 full time and 25 part time jobs would be created.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

June 25, 2018

The Mt. Carmel Police Department is investigating a CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE that occurred between 12:00PM and 5:26PM on June 23, 2018. The vehicle, a black 2006 Dodge Ram was parked in the 700 block of W. 4th Street. It appears that a sharp object was used to scratch the paint on the rear driver’s side door. Value of damage is known at this time.

Neighborhood Argument Ends With Mt. Carmel Man Arrested

06/20/2018-A neighborhood argument that spilled into the roadway resulted in Ralph E. Whitehouse, Jr., of Mt. Carmel being arrested for disorderly conduct.  Police were called to the area of 6th and Division Street reference a disturbance.  The complainant advised that Whitehouse was disturbing her peace by yelling and screaming.  A probable cause was signed against Whitehouse and he was subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct.  Whitehouse was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of bond.

Violating Order Of Protection Lands Mt. Carmel Man In Jail

Mt. Carmel Police arrested 52 year old Vincent A. Sutton of Mt. Carmel on a Wabash County warrant charging him with violation of an order of protection.  Police located Sutton in the front yard of 1013 Chestnut Street and placed him under arrest.  Sutton was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of $1,000 cash.

Keensburg Man Arrested For Driving While Suspended

06/21/2018-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 24 year old Dominick H. McGill of Keensburg after he was observed operating a motor vehicle in the area of McDowell Street and Mulberry Street.  The arresting officer knew McGill had a suspended driver's and initiated a vehicle stop.  McGill was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with driving while license is suspended.

Missouri Man Arrested By MCPD On Felony Theft Warrant

06/23/2018-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 30 year old Quentin L. Gulley of Rolla, Missouri after he was stopped by the Mt. Carmel Police for not wearing a seat belt.  During the traffic stop it was discovered that Gulley was wanted on a felony warrant for theft out of Phelps County, Missouri.   Gulley was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was cited for no valid registration, failure to wear a seat belt and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.  Gulley is being held in the Wabash County Jail pending extradition to Missouri.
