As the city of Mt. Carmel enters into the final week of the current fiscal year, officials are marveling at the amazing turnaround in city finances. The city council last night officially adopted the budget for the fiscal year that begins May 1st showing an overall surplus of just under $39,000. But, the general fund is projected to be $94,000 over budget.
