Due to a disagreement between the state and a contractor, the Wabash County bridge project on 1650-East in Road District 5 has been stopped, and the project will have to be re-designed and bid out again. Subsurface water led to the project being halted in the first place. The disagreement centered around how to continue the project and deal with the water. Highway Engineer Dustin Bunting called it a –quote – “unfortunate situation.” The bridge will remain closed.
