Aces Nipped By Carmi On Senior Day

From Coach John White: We had a great day for golf today in our home match at the West Berwick GC against Carmi . Even though the Bulldogs nipped us with a team score of 161–165, we played well.

Our biggest surprise was sophomore Gage Kennard who posted a 38 for team medalist honors in his first high school golf match. During the last couple of months Gage could often be seen hitting balls in the shag field working on his swing. He is a great example of how good golfers are developed. Good golfers work hard practicing different aspects of the golf swing that will hold up under pressure.

Jarrett West’s 41 is acceptable but can be better with a couple of slight adjustments.

Beau Stipp who is also new to the game shot a 43. His shot making was quite consistent but let several strokes get away with poor pitch shots.

Gavin Smith also had a 43. Gavin had a poor start but finished well despite some disappointing 3 putts.
Max Zimmerman came in with a 44. Max played some good golf but let a disappointing finish ruin his day.

Isaac Kieffer could never find his usual smooth swing while shooting a 49.

Andrew Gillihan led the JV with a 46, Levi Beesley and Conner Kelsey had 47s, Quaide Kanipe shot 48 and Jaxon Browning 49.

We travel tomorrow to Olney for an 18 hole tournament.
