Aces 100th Football Anniversary Has Big Plans For Upcoming Season
The 100th Anniversary of Golden Aces Football Planning Committee is pleased to announce activities will be held at every home football game this season to commemorate the 100th year of Mt. Carmel Football.
The 1981 State Championship Team will be recognized during halftime of the Harrisburg game on August 30th. A special reception will also be held following the game.
The state runner-up teams from 1974, 2001, 2002, and 2011 will all be recognized at halftime of the Mt. Vernon, Indiana game, on Friday, September 6th, again with a reception following the game.
Homecoming is Friday, September 20th. All alumni of football, band and cheerleading will be recognized as the Aces take on Olney.
Friday, September 27th will be a special “Friends of Aces Football” night as the Aces take on Alton Marquette.
Saturday, October 19th the Aces take on Dupo at 1 p.m. It will be Senior Day, and all former Aces’ coaches will be recognized. All living former head coaches including Larry Lockhart, John Hart and Darren Peach will be recognized at halftime. A special reception will also follow the game.
All postgame receptions will be open to the public.
More details will be forthcoming. Commemorative shirts, posters, videos and more will soon be available. A kickoff dinner is also being planned.
Currently the committee is asking that all players from the 1981 (Friday, August 30th), 1974, 2001, 2002, and 2011 teams (Friday, September 6th) please mark your calendars for your recognition night.
