The SMS/AJH girls basketball co-op team opened their season last night against New Hope Panthers. The Lady Rockets would go 2-1 tonight. The Lady Rockets won the C game, scoring 8 points. Lyla Keepes and Kourtney Hall would split with 4 points each. Also seeing playing time and pushing their team to victory on defense was Hazel Earnest, Austin Steckler, Linden Stevens, and Ruby Newkirk.

In the JV game, the Lady Rockets would drop to New Hope 28-5. Ava Jent would score 3 and Ruby Newkirk would score 2. Hazel Earnest was fouled and went 0/2 at the line as did Lyla Keepes. Also seeing playing time was Bella Jent, Madeline Mann, Courtney Jones, Natalie Hedge, Kourtney Hall, Austin Steckler, and Linden Stevens.

In the varsity game, the Lady Rockets would win a back and forth game 23-21. Madison Stevens was the high scorer with 9 points. Lauren Fisher would add 2, Sarah McCorkle 5, Nora Jones 6, and Kali Walker 1. Also seeing playing time adding rebounds and tough defense was Jordis Riley, Chandler Cusick, and Lily Keepes. The high scorers for New Hope were Lily Simpson with 8 and Lydia Duckworth with 9.

Also making their debut last night was the AJH/SMS Cheerleaders. Thank you ladies for coming and cheering your team to victory!
