While many rural hospitals have difficulty attracting and retaining physicians and health care workers, that hasn’t been the case at Wabash General Hospital. One of the keys to that is the hospital’s “grow your own” program in which scholarships are awarded to medical school students who pledge to return to WGH to practice. After meeting in executive session to discuss the applicants, the board voted to approve all three applicants. The names of the applicants were not disclosed at Monday’s meeting.
