Princeton man arrested on drug charges

On March 14, 2024, at 5:16 a.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report suspicious vehicle in the 8000 block of West 425 North.  The caller advised Communications Officer James Griswold that two individuals in a Red SUV were shining flashlights into people’s windows.  Upon arriving in the area Deputy Wyatt Hunt located the vehicle and the subjects.  At that point he began an investigation into the incident during which he located Methamphetamines on 63 year old Jeffrey Burkhart of Princeton, Indiana.  At the conclusion of the roadside DUI investigation Mr. Burkhart was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Possession of Methamphetamines and Possession of Paraphernalia.  The second subject was released from the scene, but charges could be filed as this is still an active an open case.

Assisting Deputy Hunt in his investigation was Sgt. John Fischer. 

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
