Mt. Carmel Man Arrested Following Incident At MCHS
On 9/28/23, at approximately 12:22pm, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Clayton S. Kirkman, age 37, of Mt. Carmel for Disorderly Conduct and Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer following an incident at Mt. Carmel High School.
Police were called to the top of the MCHS stadium after it was reported that Kirkman was yelling at students and making inappropriate statements. Kirkman left in a white Toyota as a school administrator approached the area. After reviewing video that confirmed Kirkman’s identity, police looked for and located Kirkman at 9th & Mulberry. K
irkman was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct and transported to the Wabash County Jail. Kirkman had just been released from the Wabash County Jail on a $5,000 cash bond earlier on an unrelated case.
While at the jail, Kirkman threw water from a water bottle on the arresting officer, jail staff, and the pre-trial services officer. Kirkman was given an additional charge for Aggravated Battery and is being held pending a pre-trial detention determination.
Kirkman was also issued a letter from Mt. Carmel High School Administration barring him from the property.
