On 7/30/23, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Derek L. Cross, age 44, of Mt. Carmel on two outstanding Wabash County Warrants.  The officer had originally observed Cross walking in the 100 block of Poplar Street but eventually found him hiding in a tree line nearby.  Cross was taken into custody and transported to the Wabash County Jail.  Cross was issued the warrants, one for a new charge of Domestic Battery x 2, and the other for FTA on an unrelated Domestic Battery case.  Cross is being held on a total of $1300 cash bond.
