Drug Charge Sends Mt. Carmel Man To Prison For 3 Years
A prison term has been handed down for a Mt. Carmel man facing a Class 4 felony drug charge. State’s Attorney Kelli Storckman reports that 40-year-old Jay Parrish was charged March 27th with possession of a controlled substance. Parrish was arrested following a traffic stop in the 1300 block of West 9th Street. Following a search of the vehicle in which he was a passenger, officers located Tramadol and codeine tablets, both of which are controlled substances. Judge William C. Hudson sentenced Parrish to 3 years in the DOC which will be followed by up to 12 months of parole.
