Illinois South Tourism touts itself as the marketing arm for 21 counties across Illinois. Illinois South is based in Swansea in St. Clair County and includes Wabash County as one of its’ 21 members. But, what exactly does Wabash County get for its’ membership and is it worth spending taxpayer dollars on? Board chairman Tim Hocking agreed saying Wabash County’s membership in Illinois South would be reconsidered when the current membership ends June 30th.
