On 7/21/2022, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Shana M. Gillihan, age 38, of Mt. Carmel, on a charge of Battery following an alleged altercation with another female.  Police were called to a residence in the 200 block of East 1st Street where the complainant claimed Gillihan made unwanted physical contact with her during the dispute.  After speaking to both parties and seeing a video of the incident, police placed Gillihan under arrest.  Gillihan was transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged and later released after posting bond.
