ISP TRAFFIC CRASH ALERT

WHAT:                        Single Vehicle Personal Injury Traffic Crash                                                     

WHERE:                     County Road 50N ½ mile west of County Road 2150E, Wayne County

WHEN:                       May 14, 2022 at approximately 2:29 p.m.                                  

VEHICLE:                  Unit 1- 2009 Silver EZ GO Golf Cart

DRIVER:                    Unit 1- Elyse Wiser, 29-year-old female from Nashville, IL – Flown to a regional hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

PASSENGERS:           Unit 1- 5-year-old female from Barnhill, IL – Flown to a regional hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

                                    Unit 1- Gina Wiser, 52-year-old female from Mount Juliet, TN – Flown to a regional hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

                                    Unit 1- 17-year-old male from Barnhill, IL – Transported by ambulance to an area hospital with serious injuries.

                                    Unit 1- Morgan Duckworth, 41-year-old female from Barnhill, IL

PRELIMINARY:        Preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling east on 50N approximately ½ mile west of 2150E in Wayne County. Unit 1 driver lost control in loose gravel and Unit 1 overturned. All occupants were ejected from the vehicle. Unit 1 driver and three passengers were transported to area or regional hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. Duckworth reported no injuries on scene. This crash is still under investigation and no further information is available at this time.

CHARGES:                 The driver of Unit 1 was cited for Driving Too Fast for Conditions and Operating a Non-Highway Vehicle on Roadway.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
