Stadium Renovations Causing 4th of July Changes
Renovations to Riverview Stadium this summer is causing a change to the city’s 4th of July fireworks and where you can watch them. At Monday’s City Council meeting, Mayor Joe Judge said the fireworks will still be detonated from the same location near the levee on Golden Aces Way. But since the stadium will be closed to seating because of the renovations, city officials are coming up with an alternative plan to view the fireworks and for parking.
And speaking of the 4th, there will be a 4th of July parade again this year. For the last 20 years, the parade has been organized by the Gary Arnold family. Now, Mayor Joe Judge says his family will assist the Arnold’s in making sure this year’s Independence Day tradition continues.
