On 2/26/22, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Draven J. Davis, age 23, of Mt. Carmel, for Theft (Greater than $10,000) and Driving While License Revoked following a report of a stolen vehicle from the area of 7th & Poplar. After the victim notified police of his missing vehicle to MCPD officers were able to locate the vehicle in the 1900 block of North Cherry Street. Following a traffic stop at this location, Davis was found to be driving the vehicle and taken into custody. Davis was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged and held pending a bond setting by a judge. Davis was later issued an additional charge of Criminal Damage to Government Supported Property by the Wabash County Sheriff’s Office when he allegedly tore a video camera from the wall while in custody.
