The city of Mt. Carmel is lending a helping hand to a neighboring community. The city council has approved donating one of the former steel poles that held the stop lights on Market Street to the village of West Salem. According to Mayor Joe Judge, West Salem will use the pole to mount their storm siren that is currently on top of the firehouse.  

Mt. Carmel and West Salem also recently worked together as Mt. Carmel sold the village one of its’ former squad cars.
