Raphael “Ray” Unfried 68, of Allendale, Illinois, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021, at home. He was born on July 17, 1953, in Carmi, Illinois, the son of Ambrose and Fern Unfried. He married Cheryl Ann Wilkerson on July 3, 1984, and they enjoyed thirty-three years of marriage until her death on January 23, 2018.

Ray worked as an over-the-road trucker for nearly twenty years. In his spare time, he enjoyed attending car shows and drag races. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be truly missed by all who loved him.

Ray leaves behind his children, Tracy (Morrow) (Jay Hillyard) Moler, Tammy (Morrow) (Tony) Nold, Michael Morrow; grandchildren, Zachary Clayton, Addison Moler, Shelby Moler, Emma Barrett; sisters, Clara Ward, Louise (Greg) Slayton, Bonnie (Matt) Daly, Marianne (Steve) Schweizer; sister-in-law, AnaLucia Toste; several, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In addition to his beloved wife, Ray was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Unfried, and sister, Pauletta Whetstone.

In keeping with Ray’s wishes, cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
