Duo arrested after traveling in excess of 100 mph on US 41

On July 31, 2021, at 5:46 p.m. Gibson County Deputy Garrett Tuley conducted a traffic stop on a Red 2020 Chevy Camaro for traveling 104 mph in a 60 mph zone on US 41. Upon conducting the stop on US 41 near County Road 225 North Deputy Tuley identified the driver as 24-year-old Paige Devience of Chicago, Illinois. While speaking with Ms. Devience Deputy Tuley detected the odor of burnt Marijuana and began a roadside drug investigation. At the conclusion of his investigation Ms. Devience was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail where she was charged with Reckless Driving, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She has since posted an $1100 bond. A passenger in the vehicle 22-year-old Tydarius Washington of Orlando, Florida was also taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Possession of Marijuana.

Assisting Deputy Tuley in his investigation was Deputy Bryce Jutzi.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
