On 7/24/21, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Zachary M. Peach, age 29, of Mt. Carmel, for Domestic Battery, Resisting a Peace Officer, and Criminal Damage to Property following a dispute at a residence in the 1300 block of North Cherry Street.   When officers arrived, they found evidence to indicate Peach had struck two family members during the dispute.  Additionally, it was reported that Peach damaged the home and a vehicle while armed with a hatchet.  When officers attempted to arrest Peach, he pulled away, trying to avoid being handcuffed.  Peach was secured and transported to the Wabash County Jail, where he was charged and held pending a bond setting by a judge.
