Council Cools On Cell Phone Proposal

The Mt. Carmel City Council’s interest seems to have cooled on a proposal from American Tower. The proposal calls for American Tower to pay the city a lump sum of $350,000 for perpetual leases on the cell towers at the golf course and on Railroad Street. Currently, the city receives just under $29,000 a year for the leases. Commissioner Tom Meeks said the council should proceed with caution on the proposal…
