Pedestrian Dead In I-64 Wreck In White County
ISP INVESTIGATES FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH
The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 19
WHAT: Two Unit Fatal Crash
WHERE: Interstate 64 eastbound at Milepost 128.5, Gray Township, White County.
WHEN: May 14, 2021 at 3:49 a.m.
VEHICLE: Unit 1 – Red 2007 Peterbilt Truck Tractor Semi-Trailer
DRIVER: Unit 1 – Aaron K. Enoch, a 45-year-old female from Pickerington, OH – Refused medical attention.
PEDESTRIAN: Dustin T. Gregory, a 36-year-old male from Lovington, IL – Pronounced deceased.
PRELIMINARY: Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 2 was traveling in the right lane of Interstate 64 eastbound at Milepost 128.5. A pedestrian was walking in the same area. For an unknown reason, the pedestrian stepped into the right lane of traffic, directly in the path of Unit 2. The pedestrian was struck by the front driver’s side quarter panel of Unit 2. Unit 2 immediately pulled to the side of the roadway. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of Unit 1 refused medical attention. The pedestrian’s vehicle was located in the area of Interstate 64 eastbound at Milepost 125. The ISP Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit (TCRU) is continuing the investigation. No further information will be disseminated at this time.
