One Goes To Hospital After Effingham Crash

The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 12
WHAT: Two Unit Traffic Crash with Injury
WHERE: Intersection of Grove Avenue and Henrietta Street, Douglas Township, Effingham County
WHEN: May 11, 2021 at 12:58 p.m.
VEHICLES: Unit 1 – Black 2008 Chevrolet Impala
Unit 2 – Brown 2008 GMC Envoy
DRIVERS: Unit 1 – Collin R. Habing, an 18-year-old female from Watson IL - Uninjured
Unit 2 – Bryce E. Batchelor, a 21-year-old male from Effingham, IL -Transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
PRELIMINARY: Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling eastbound on Grove Avenue, attempting a left turn northbound onto Henrietta Street, Effingham County. Unit 2 was traveling westbound on Grove Avenue. As Unit 1 attempted to turn left onto Henrietta Street, it was struck on its passenger side as it crossed in front of Unit 2. Unit 2 driver was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No further information will be disseminated at this time.
CHARGES: The driver of Unit 1 was issued a citation for Failure to Yield Right of Way/ Intersection – Turning Left.
