ISP INVESTIGATES TRAFFIC CRASH WITH INJURY

The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 12

WHAT:                      Single Vehicle Traffic Crash with Injury

WHERE:                   Illinois Route 161 west of Buchanan Road, Haines Township, Marion County.

WHEN:                      March 25, 2021 at 11:43 a.m.

VEHICLES:              Unit 1 – Maroon 2001 Buick Century                       

DRIVERS:                 Unit 1 – Rosalyn M. Dewey, a 19-year-old female from Centralia, IL – Airlifted to a regional hospital with serious injuries.

PRELIMINARY:      Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling westbound on Illinois Route 161 west of Buchanan Road in Marion County.  Unit 1 traveled off the roadway to the right and struck a utility pole with the front and rear driver’s side door. The driver of Unit 1 was airlifted to a regional hospital with serious injuries. No further information will be disseminated at this time.

CHARGES:               The driver of Unit 1 was issued a citation for Operate Uninsured Vehicle, Driving too Fast for Conditions, and Improper Display of Registration.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
