ISP TRAFFIC CRASH ALERT

WHAT:                      Fatal Traffic Crash                                                     

WHERE:                   Forest Road at Kedron Road, Gallatin County

WHEN:                      Oct. 29, 2021 at approximately 9:25 p.m.                             

VEHICLE:                Unit 1- 2005 White Dodge Stratus

DRIVER:                   Unit 1- Joseph Kopman, 61-year-old male from Elizabethtown, IL - Deceased

PRELIMINARY:      Preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred:  Unit 1 was traveling north on Forest Road just south of Kedron Road in Gallatin County. For unknown reasons, the driver of Unit 1 left the roadway to the right, striking a ditch embankment and rolling over. The driver of Unit 1 was pronounced deceased on scene by the Gallatin County Coroner. This crash remains under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
