A Chicago area man and his two children were rescued from high water Sunday evening by Wabash and Edwards County first responders.

Sheriff Derek Morgan reports that 42 year old Adam G. Burdette of Roselle was driving along the Bonpas with his 12 and 7 year old children when he drove into high water disabling the vehicle. Morgan said Wabash County authorities assisted Edwards County in locating the vehicle.

All three were taken to the Olney hospital for evaluation. Since the vehicle was located on the Wabash County side of the Bonpas,, Wabash County is handling the investigation which is continuing. as Morgan said Burdette could face charges in connection to the incident. According to the sheriff, Burdette was in the area visiting family. Roselle is located about 30 minutes northwest of downtown Chicago.
