Wabash County board chairman Tim Hocking is hoping the county can use part of federal CURES funding to help pay for the demolition of the property adjacent to the courthouse. Hocking said the contractor for the demolition, Jeff Guisewite, Incorporated, indicated asbestos abatement work on the property at 407 Market Street would start next Wednesday while the demolition is slated to begin September 7th. The county board had previously approved Guisewite’s bids of $48,629 for the demo and asbestos work.
