ISP TRAFFIC CRASH ALERT

The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 12

WHAT:                      Two Unit Personal Injury Traffic Crash

WHERE:                   Effingham County Road 1400th Avenue Eastbound at 2300th Street, Effingham County

WHEN:                      May 23, 2020 at 11:48 a.m.   

VEHICLE:                Unit 1- 2007 Gray Saturn

                                    Unit 2- 1999 Maroon International truck tractor semi-trailer   combination (2016 Black Tempte Trailer)

DRIVER:                   Unit 1- 16-year-old female of Toledo, IL (Transported to local area       hospital with non-life threatening injuries)                                                                                       

                                    Unit 2- Milton L. Oesch, 44- year-old male of Calhoun, IL    

PASSENGER:           Unit 1- Roddnie C. Deters, 19- year old male of Teutopolis, IL                                                                                            (Airlifted to local area hospital with serious injuries)

PRELIMINARY:      A preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred:  Unit 1 was traveling eastbound on Effingham County Road 1400th Avenue approaching 2300th Street.  Unit 2 was traveling southbound on 2300th Street (Dietrich Blacktop). Unit 1 failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of 1400th Avenue and 2300th Street and struck Unit 2.

CHARGES:               Traffic crash investigation is ongoing.
