Fort Branch man arrested on multiple charges
On February 4, 2020, at 11:46 a.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report of a possible trespass at a residence in the 2000 block of East 750 South. Upon arriving at the residence Deputy Brian Naas and Deputy U.B. Smith began an investigation into the incident. During the investigation deputies spoke with all parties on scene who were involved in the incident. Witnesses advised Deputy Naas that 22-year-old Rylan Szudy of Fort Branch entered the residence without permission and in the process broke a wooden chair. At that point Deputy Naas placed Mr. Szudy into custody. However, while speaking with Mr. Szudy he detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Mr. Szudy. At that point Deputy Naas began a DUI investigation that resulted in Mr. Szudy being taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Gibson County Jail Mr. Szudy was charged with Residential Entry, Criminal Mischief, and Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. He has since posted a $750 bond.
