One of the three men charged in last year’s armed robbery at the Verizon Wireless store in Mt. Carmel has changed his plea to two felony charges in federal court in Benton. 19 year old Jaylen Davis of Indianapolis was in court yesterday where he changed his original not guilty plea to guilty to charges of interference with commerce by robbery and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.

Under US sentencing guidelines, Davis faces anywhere from 117 to 125 months in prison when he is sentenced on May 12th by Judge Staci Yandle in Benton.  He could also be fined up to $150,000.

As part of the plea agreement, it was pointed out that Davis accepted responsibility for his actions last July 30th when Davis and two co-defendants robbed the Verizon store at 9th and Cherry Streets. Court records indicate just under $26,000 worth of merchandise was stolen.

One of Davis’s co-defendant’s, 18 year old Latrell Coe, pled guilty to the same charges in December and is set to be sentenced on March 24th in Benton.

The third defendant, 25 year old Anthony Suber, is set to go on trial on the same charges on March 2nd. After fleeing the Verizon store, the men were captured in Lawrence County.
