The court-appointed attorney for accused murderer Ruben Corzine has filed a motion looking to determine Corzine’s mental fitness. Public Defender James Lane filed the motion today stating Corzine has suffered from mental illnesses in the past and has been previously treated for severe mental illness and was prescribed medications. Lane contended Corzine was not taking those prescribed meds. The motion also states Corzine has even attempted suicide since being arrested January 29th for the murder of his fiancé Jennifer Phelps at their Cherry Street home. The 32 year old Corzine is due back in court Thursday for a preliminary hearing . He is being held on a $5 million bond in the Wabash County Jail.
