ISP TRAFFIC CRASH ALERT  

The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by

Illinois State Police District 12 

WHAT:                       Fatal Crash

WHERE:                    Clarksville Road at N. Cleone Road.  (Clark County)

WHEN:                      01/10/2020 at 6:19 a.m.        

VEHICLES:              UNIT 1 – Silver, 2005, Toyota, Avalon

                                    UNIT 2 -  Blue, 1994, Kenworth, Truck Tractor

DRIVER:                   UNIT 1 – Wade C. Schaefer, 32, Charleston, IL (FATAL)

                                    UNIT 2 -  Matthew Wayne Locker, 37, Knightstown, IN

TRANSPORTS:      N/A

CHARGES:               N/A

                                                PRELIMINARY:       Unit #1 was eastbound on Clarksville Road, just east of Cleone Road, in Clark County.  Unit #2 was westbound, on Clarksville Road, at the same location.  As Unit #1 met Unit #2, it crossed over into the westbound lane.   Unit #1 then struck Unit #2 head on.  The driver of Unit #1 was pronounced deceased at the scene.
