YIA Discontinues Fall Festival; Harvest Prince To Move To Spooktacular 5K
From YIA’s Susan Zimmerman:
After great consideration, Wabash Valley Youth in Action, Inc. will no longer be sponsoring the Wabash Valley Youth in Action (YIA) Fall Festival. The YIA Fall Festival began approximately ten years ago to provide local youths and families a free, fun-filled, family outing by participating in Fall activities. In recent years, Fall Festivals have become popular with many organizations and churches creating their own. With the growing number of festivals and the number of volunteers for YIA’s Fall Fest diminishing, YIA has decided to end the YIA Fall Festival. We encourage the community to support the other festivals in the area.
The Little Mr. Harvest Prince contest was a component of the YIA Fall Festival. With the ending of the YIA Fall Festival, the Little Mr. Harvest Prince contest will no longer be sponsored by Wabash Valley Youth in Action, Inc.; however, Wabash County Chamber of Commerce has decided to incorporate the Prince Contest into their Spooktacular 5K. So, although it is no longer sponsored by YIA, the young men in our community will have the opportunity to participate in a contest.
We appreciate all the support from the community, clubs and organizations in the past for the YIA Fall Festival, but we believe that it is time to focus on something new for the community.
