On 9/18/19 Mt. Carmel Police arrested Christopher J. Krulic, age 23, and Joan N. Macharia, age 22, both of Mt. Carmel following a retail theft complaint. Officers were called to the Wagon Wheel Liquor Store where they took a complaint about a male subject who stole a bottle of R & R Reserve Whiskey. Upon reviewing store surveillance cameras they recognized the suspect, his driver, and the white vehicle the suspects were driving. Officers eventually located the theft suspect, Christopher Krulic, and his driver Joan Macharia, in the 1200 block of N Mulberry. Krulic was placed under arrest for the retail theft and Macharia for Obstructing/Resisting a Peace Officer. Macharia’s charge stemmed from providing a false statement and then resisting her arrest from officers when placed under arrest. Both were transported to the Wabash County Jail where they were charged and held pending the posting of bond.
