Time is running out if you’d like to make a pre-payment on your Wabash County property taxes. Treasurer Beverly McBride told the county board this week that, right now, she plans to end pre-payments in August 30th. So far this year, $108,000 has been paid on 2018 taxes. It’s not clear when tax statements will be mailed this year and what the due dates will be.

McBride also said taxes on 51 mobile homes remain to be paid. That amounts to $3,300 or 11% of the total taxes. She said beginning September 1st, the penalty on late taxes will go from $50 to $75.

In terms of state payments from the Springfield, McBride said her office has received just under $25,000 in income tax receipts.
