2019 Ag Days Layout To Significantly Change
This summer’s Ag Day festival in Mt. Carmel will have a decidedly different look than those in years past. Chamber of Commerce executive director Lesley Hipsher said she had taken recommendations from Mt. Carmel Fire Commissioner Rod Rodriguez into consideration in revamping the layout of this year’s 4-day street festival. Among the changes is opening the 3rd Street intersection for a fire lane. In the past, rides had blocked that intersection making it impossible for fire trucks to get through in the event of an emergency.
Another change is moving the Chamber’s lemon shake-up stand from the 4th Street intersection to in front of Vintage Collections. Also, the main stage that had been at 4th and Market Street is being done away with. All this year’s entertainment will be moved to the new stage and pavilion in Merchants Park.
Ag Days is set for July 31st through August 3rd. To allow for setup of the event, The 300 and 400 blocks of Market Street will close at 1pm on Tuesday, July 30th.
