On 7/05/19 Mt. Carmel Police arrested Austin M. Knust, age 21, of Mt. Carmel, for Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe and Needle. Police were conducting a welfare check on another subject in the area of 9th & Cedar St. where they also found Knust present. During the incident both subjects showed signs of impairment from drug use. Knust was found to be in possession of a needle and was taken into custody. Knust was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged and held pending the posting of bond.
