Blown Tire Causes Accident That Seriously Injures Two On I-70

VEHICLE: UNIT 1 – Black 2003 Ford 4 door Sedan
DRIVER: UNIT 1- Chene Durley, age 56, Las Vegas, Nevada
PASSENGERS: UNIT 1 PASSENGER 1 – Initia Durley, age 60, Las Vegas, Nevada
CHARGES: UNIT 1 – None
TRANSPORTS: UNIT 1 – Passenger 1 was airlifted to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
UNIT 2 – Driver was transported to Carle Foundation Hospital by Ambulance.
PRELIMINARY:
Preliminary investigative details indicate Unit 1 was traveling Eastbound on Interstate 70 near Milepost 114 in Cumberland County, when the driver’s side rear tire abruptly ruptured. As a result of the tire failure, the driver of Unit 1 lost control. Unit 1 skidded off of the roadway, and entered the median. Unit 1 rolled over several times and came to rest on its passenger’s side. Unit 1 was towed from the scene.
