WHERE: Illinois 33 and Effingham County 1300 ave. Approximately 4.5 miles east of Effingham

WHEN: 06/13/2019, 7:48 a.m.

VEHICLES: UNIT 1 Gray, 2019 Dodge

UNIT 2 Black, 2019 Ford

UNIT 3 Blue, 2020 Freightliner

DRIVER: UNIT 1- Carolyn S. Harris, 58, from Sesser, Illinois

UNIT 2- Nathan F. Humphrey, 23, Midlothian, Virginia

UNIT 3- Steven B. Clary, 54, Olney, Illinois

PASSENGER: 0

CHARGES: UNIT 1 – Improper lane Usage

TRANSPORTS: UNIT 1 – Harris, was transported to Carle Hospital in Champaign

UNIT 2 – Humphrey was transported to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Effingham

PRELIMINARY: Preliminary investigative details indicate that Unit #1, and Unit #2 were traveling south near Effingham County 1300th Ave. Unit #2 slowed and came to a stop due to the vehicle in front of him was stopped waiting to turn left onto Effingham Co. 1300th Ave. Unit #1 failed to slow down and struck the left rear Unit #2 with the right front of Unit #1. Unit #1 then crossed over into the north bond lane and struck the front of Unit #3 traveling north with the right front of Unit #1.
