Three Teens Injured In River Road Crash

On 05.30.19 the Wabash County Sheriff's Office responded to a one vehicle crash on River Rd. (E. 1280 Rd.) just south of the Old Dam site and north of N 1420 Blvd. Deputies found a 1997 Chevy S-10 was south bound on River Road when the driver lost controlof the vehicle. The vehicle traveled off the roadway to the right, over corrected and struck a tree on the left side (riverside) of the road head on. Two occupants, a 16 year old male from Mt. Carmel and a 17 year old male from Mt. Carmel were transported to Wabash General Hospital by the Wabash General Ambulance Service and transferred to Evansville area hospitals by air ambulance for their injuries. The 16 year old male driver of Mt. Carmel was transported to an Evansville area hospital by the Wabash General Ambulance Service. The crash investigation is ongoing. The occupants were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. The Mt. Carmel Fire Department also responded to the crash.
