On 5/23/19 Mt. Carmel Police arrested Clayton S. Kirkman, age 33, of Mt. Carmel, for Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe and Needle. The arresting officer was assisting a parole agent, with the Illinois Dept. of Corrections, who was conducting a check on one of their parolees, Clayton Kirkman, at a residence in the 1000 block of N Cherry Street.  During this time a needle was found inside the residence which led to the arrest of Kirkman.  Kirkman was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged and held pending return to an Illinois Department of Corrections facility.
