Two Killed In Monday Night White County Crash

ISP DISTRICT 19 TRAFFIC CRASH ALERT

The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 19:

WHAT: Fatal Traffic Crash

WHERE: Illinois Route 141, just east of the Little Wabash River Bridge (White County)

WHEN: 04/22/2019, at approximately 10:17pm

VEHICLES: White, 2008, GMC Yukon Gold, 2008, Honda Accord

DRIVERS: Robbie W. Darnell, Age 41, of Equality, Illinois (GMC)

Judith A. Egan, Age 67, of Norris City, Illinois (Honda / Deceased)

PASSENGERS: Michelle R. Egan, Age 40, of Norris City, Illinois (Honda / Deceased)

CAUSE: Remains under Investigation

TRANSPORTS: Darnell was transported by ambulance to a regional hospital for injuries sustained in the traffic crash.

ROAD CONDITIONS: Open

PRELIMINARY: According to the preliminary traffic crash investigation, the driver of the 2008 GMC Yukon, Robbie W. Darnell, and the driver of the 2008 Honda Accord, Judith A. Egan were involved in a head-on collision in the westbound lane of Illinois Route 141, just east of the Little Wabash River Bridge. Following the impact, both vehicles left the roadway. Judith A. Egan, along with her passenger Michelle R. Egan, were both pronounced deceased at the traffic crash scene. Darnell was transported to a regional hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. An Illinois State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit Officer has joined the traffic crash investigation. In addition, the White County Sheriff’s Department, Gallatin County Sheriff’s Department, Ridgway Police Department, New Haven Fire Department, Ridgway Fire Department, White County Ambulance Service, Deaconess Ambulance Service, White County Coroner’s Office, Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), Cherry Street Automotive, and Don’s Bumperto-Bumper assisted ISP at the crash scene.

CHARGES: Robbie W. Darnell was cited for No Valid Driver’s License, Improper Lane Usage, and Operating an Uninsured Motor

Vehicle. All subjects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
