Wabash County Ballot Set For 2020 Election
On the final day of the filing period, two candidates stepped forward yesterday to run for Wabash County Commissioner in next year’s election.
Republican Scott “Scooter” West and Democrat Shawn Storckman will seek to win the six year term on the county board. The seat is currently held by Republican Robie Thompson who has chosen not to seek re-election. West and Storckman were the only two candidates to file before yesterday’s deadline.
They join Kelli Storckman and Bill Easton who filed last week for state’s attorney and Shaun Keepes and Greg Wilkinson for coroner. All four are Republicans and will have their races decided in the March 17th primary. Since Keepes and Wilkinson both filed at the same time when the filing window opened last week, a lottery for ballot placement will be held on Thursday, according to county clerk Janet Will.
The other county office on the ballot will be un-contested as no candidate filed to face incumbent Angie Crum who will run unopposed for another 4 year term next year.
